about pearworkspearworks is a none-profit project of mine to bring some cool software to the Macintosh software market. It all started back in 1999 - wow, was it really that long ago? Anyway, I try to keep an eye on concepts that allow simple and efficient use of my software. Let's take the calculator example: most calculators available back then used quite a lot of screen real-estate for buttons that are hardly ever pressed, because it's much faster to just type the numbers. Or why can't we just type in the name of an application we want to launch instead of diving into deep folder-hierarchies until we find the program-icon. Or what about performing calculations in any text field? These thoughts led to the development of pearCalc, my first OS X application (nowadays Spotlight search handles some of these kind of things too of course). Antoine Saint Exupery made a very impressive statement: "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away". This could also be considered as my main guiding-light during software-development. As mentioned before, this is a none-profit project, therefore all software found on this website is freeware.
